Project Information

The Brief:Create a unifying print system for a multi-sport capsule worn by professional athletes during the pre-Olympic qualification games, giving different disciplines a shared visual identity.

The Approach:Designed abstract geometric prints capturing the energy and movement of various Olympic sports — from pole vault arcs to track strides. Each sport had its own visual language, engineered to interlock into one cohesive all-over print.

Early versions incorporated infographic-style elements and technical data to add layered storytelling and dynamic depth. We also explored a collaboration with AIR-INK to print using black pigment made from Tokyo air pollution — a concept symbolizing innovation and sustainability — but production constraints prevented execution. Ultimately, we used a sharp black-and-white palette to stand apart from typical saturated sports graphics, putting form and texture at the center.
