Project Information

The Brief:
Create street-inspired graphics for Missy Elliott's first-ever headlining tour. Design for costumes and stage production that match her legendary status.

The Approach: Graffiti became the visual language. Not clean graffiti, but that raw, layered style from the streets. The tags featured words that ARE Missy: "Supa Dupa Fly," "Divine," "Legend," "Love," and "757" (her Virginia area code). I hopped on calls with her team, selling the vision of Missy as street royalty. These graphics had to work everywhere: on Missy, backup dancers, special guests like Busta Rhymes, Timbaland, and Ciara. Plus motion graphics for massive stage screens. The technical challenge? Making prints that survive intense choreography night after night. Neon colors on black base ensured visibility from the nosebleed seats. Every design decision served the performance.

The Impact: The graphics matched Missy's energy perfectly. Bold, unapologetic, iconic. They bridged her street credibility with superstar status without choosing sides. Fans saw the Missy they fell in love with elevated to arena scale. The graffiti aesthetic made every costume feel like wearable art. Easy to understand as celebration, impossible to ignore as visual culture.

Key Deliverables: All-over print design • Stage motion graphics • Performance durability specifications • Celebrity costume graphics
