Project Information

The Brief: Create logo-branded graphics for Dick's Sporting Goods customers seeking street authenticity in training gear. Make Nike feel raw, not refined.

The Approach: Hand-stenciled Nike logos, then spray painted through the cuts. This wasn't about perfection. I was chasing overspray, hunting for bleeds, celebrating accidents. The inspiration came from The November Project, where runners spray their own gear with community stencils. That DIY energy became everything. Black ink only for authenticity. Each piece felt one-of-a-kind through natural paint bleeds and overspray variations. The process gave training essentials a gritty, bootleg quality that you simply can't replicate digitally. It's like customers grabbed a stencil and tagged their own Nike gear. That's the human touch. Real hands, real paint, real imperfections.

The Impact: Athletic tops and fitness bras that looked stolen from the streets, not bought from a store. The hand-sprayed aesthetic bridged training function with street credibility perfectly. This proved that sometimes the best brand celebration comes from roughing it up. Making it less precious, more personal. Easy to understand as Nike, impossible to ignore as rebellion.

Key Deliverables: Hand-stenciled graphics • Spray paint application • Athletic tops design • Sports bra graphics
